City of Tukwila Renews with Seattle Seawolves for 2021

TUKWILA, WASHINGTON (May 28, 2021) – The Seattle Seawolves and the City of Tukwila have announced the renewal of their partnership for the 2021 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.

“The City of Tukwila has been a wonderful partner to the Seawolves, and we could not be more excited to continue our collaborative partnership”, said Seawolves president, Brian Jones. “Tukwila has been our home since the inception of Major League Rugby in 2018 and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our roots in the community, make new memories, and grow the game of rugby in Washington.”

The City of Tukwila is home to Starfire Sports, a massive multi-field complex nestled along the Green River where the Seawolves train and play home matches in front of sell-out crowds. Tukwila’s strong commitment to fostering the growth of both professional and amateur sports makes it the ideal location for the Seawolves training facility and home pitch.

The City of Tukwila will work alongside the Seawolves to increase community exposure through 2021 match halftime recognitions, where local Tukwila businesses and first responders will be honored for their perseverance during the last year.

The City of Tukwila joins an esteemed group of Seawolves partners including WaFd Bank, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority, Westfield Southcenter, Krusteaz, Elysian Brewing, Glacial Cryotherapy, BECU, USI, Wing Dome, Valley Shine Distillery, Olli Salumeria, and more.

The Seawolves are committed to keeping their players, staff, and fans safe by following all state-mandated health and safety protocols. As we continue to work towards the states reopening, the Club supports getting vaccinated and are rolling out more fully-vaccinated sections for June and July matches. We encourage all fans that come to attend Seawolves home games to help the small businesses of Tukwila back on their feet by shopping local during your visit.
