Apisai Naikatini

Sigatoka, Fiji

Hailing from his home country of Fiji, Apisai’s professional rugby career got its start in a different rugby country: New Zealand. He took to Wellington where he played for them from 2006 to 2013, including an ITM Cup final. A Super Rugby opportunity knocked from the Hurricanes in 2009 where he spent a season with the Canes. During the off-seasons for Wellington, Naikatini headed to Japan to suit up with Toyota Verblitz from 2011-2013. In 2012, he got his first call up to the Fijian national team where he then played for the Flying Fijians until 2015, making 18 appearances. After spending the majority of his time in the Southern hemisphere, he switched to Northern hemisphere competition in France with Brive (13-14), Agen (15-16), and Aubenas (16-17). Apisai continues his professional career by coming to the United States and joining the Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby.

At a towering height of 6’5, Apisai adds coverage in our lock position and will be an aerial threat on kick offs and in lineouts as the newest addition to the Seawolves forward pack.
